An Honoris Causa is not something common; going through the main stages of one’s life with the sweetness and bitterness is not that ordinary either. And yet, both coincided yesterday evening at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik.

Mr. Salim Sfeir was granted the Honoris Causa in honor of his contributions to the banking field and in honor of his contribution to the Lebanese society.

Reverend Father Hady Mahfouz, President of the Holy Spirit of Kaslik, Dr. Nehmé Azouri, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Commercial Sciences, together with Ambassadors, important academic, political, and bank personalities, as well as the Chairman’s family, close friends and Bank of Beirut employees, were there to share this great moment with Mr. Salim Sfeir.

After a documentary on the childhood, education, family, professional and humanitarian milestones including testimonies from Mrs. Marie Claude Sfeir, the CEO’s wife; Mr. Riad Salamé , Banque du Liban Governor; Mr. Adnan Kassar, former Minister; Mr. Elias Bou Saab, Minister of Education; Dr. Jabbra, President of LAU… the insignia was conferred by Reverend Father Hady Mahfouz and followed by a thank you address in which Mr. Salim Sfeir, with a lot of emotions, turned to the young people, “Dear young people, Lebanon needs you; don’t let go of your love and faith that can help you move mountains.”

The ceremony ended with a small cocktail during which family, friends, work companions, personalities, USEK staff… held a toast to Bank of Beirut Chairman, Mr. Salim Sfeir.
