Australia Honors Salim Sfeir After Africa and the United States
Dr. Salim G. Sfeir, Chairman-CEO of Bank of Beirut has been recently honored in Australia, where he was granted the Certificate of Recognition and Merit by the Honorable John Ajaka, MLC President of the Australian Parliament of New South Wales, in appreciation to his contribution to business, finance and the community.

The ceremony was held at the Parliament House, in Sydney, in the presence of the Maronite Bishop in Australia, Mgr. Antoine Charbel Tarabay,  Regional President of the World Lebanese Cultural Union in Australia, Mr. Michel Doueihi, President of the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce in Sydney, Mr. Joe Khattar,  President of the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce in Melbourne, Mr. Fadi Zouki, President of the Maronite Council Mr. Tony Khattar, President of the World Patriarchal Maronite Foundation for Integral Development in Australia, Mr. Sarkis Nassif, former Head of the Maronite League, Mr. Toufic Keyrouz, businessmen Georges Ghossein and  Anwar Harb.

The honoring ceremony hosted by the President of the Australian Parliament of New South Wales is a demonstration of gratitude towards Sfeir who plays an outstanding role in the promotion of Lebanese-Australian business relations through the 16-Branch Bank of Sydney Bank of Beirut Group acquired six years ago.

Following the event, Bank of Sydney hosted a dinner in celebration of its sixth anniversary. In his address, Sfeir declared to the 500 guests, “Tonight we can look back on a genuinely successful first chapter of shared success. We thank you for your business, your support and your trust. As we begin the next chapter, we will continue to work hard to further strengthen your trust”.
