Bank of Beirut, May 13, 2016 – Two new accolades have recently been conferred upon Bank of Beirut awards record. The Bank was named Best Commercial Bank and Best Transaction Bank in Lebanon at the 2016 Banker Middle East Industry Awards and Bank of Beirut Chairman, Dr. Salim Sfeir was recognized for his outstanding contribution to banking and finance.  The Bank was presented with the awards at a gala dinner held by the magazine in Dubai on May 12, at the Emirates Towers Hotel, Dubai.

On behalf of Dr. Salim Sfeir, Mr. Georges Aouad, Head of Retail and Branch Division, received the three prestigious accolades from Banker Middle East, CPI Financials leading banking industry magazine during the ceremony that was attended by prominent celebrities across the region’s banking and financial services industry in the presence of Mrs. Balsam Al Khalil, Chief Representative Officer-UAE and Gulf Region, as well as Executive Officers of the Bank.    

Commenting on the awards, Aouad said, “This triple recognition reflects our leadership in the marketplace and motivates us to remain in the lead”. “Receiving the Best Commercial Bank and Best Transaction Bank awards for the second consecutive year is very significant to us and to our shareholders.” He added, “Not only it illustrates our excellent track record, but also emphasizes that we continuously strive to improve and at no time rest on our laurels”.

Mr. Aouad, thanking Banker Magazine for their confidence and recognition, stated, “We will continue to raise the bar and achieve superior levels of success.”
