In an interview to Al Nahar newspaper of August 1st, 2014, Mr. Salim Sfeir, CEO and Chairman of Bank of Beirut, highlights the importance of the banking sector in Lebanon and the successful strategy of Bank of Beirut.

Here are some of the main points put forward:

• Although the region is going through a lot of problems, the banking sector has been the perfect example of resistance and adaptation to the difficult situations. Salim Sfeir, CEO Bank of Beirut, asserts that this sector has again registered considerable growth in the two first quarters of 2014.
• The Central Bank has played a major role in helping the Lebanese banks to overcome the regional and international crises. The Lebanese Banking sector is the cornerstone of the Lebanese economy thanks to its excellent infrastructure.
• Bank of Beirut has registered remarkable growth in the first semester of 2014 as a result of the strategy it is following.
• Bank of Beirut abides by international and Lebanese laws and plays an important role in the society mainly vis-à-vis the Lebanese youth and students.
