On June 3rd, 2014, Banker ME officially designated Bank of Beirut as “The Fastest Growing Bank in Lebanon” for 2013. Bank of Beirut was represented by the Chairman - CEO, himself, Mr. Georges Aouad, Director - Head of Retail and Branch Division and Mrs. Balsam el Khalil, Chief Representative in UAE for the Gulf Region.

“The Banker Middle East Industry Awards are designed to recognize top performers and raise standards. Through CPI Financial Analysis of audited balance sheets based on important key performance indicators including: assets, liabilities, income, net profit, return on assets, return on equity, tier 1 capital etc., the Banker Middle East Industry Awards granted Mr. Salim Sfeir, Chairman - CEO Bank of Beirut, the trophy at a gala dinner held at the Emirates Towers Hotel of Dubai, UAE. This distinguished ceremony brought together some 500 top bankers, financiers and business people as well as the most prominent institutions in the field. As for Robin Amlôt, Managing Editor of Banker Middle East, he revealed, “The Banker Middle East Industry Awards set a clear and high performance benchmark for the MENA financial sector. It is worth noting that Bank of Beirut award, the “Fastest Growing Bank in Lebanon”, as well as the other awards, was made based on the quantitative and qualitative financial research carried out in the creation of the CPI Financial 100 listing of regional financial institutions. Using metrics derived from published financial data, these Awards identify both the fastest growing and the best locally licensed and domiciled financial institutions in each of the 9 countries of the Middle East.
