Beirut, December 12, 2018 - Bank of Beirut has reaped the ‘Highest Contactless Payment Volume Penetration Award’ by VISA International for 2018.

Delivered to Bank of Beirut during a reception held at Bauchrieh Premises on December 12, 2018 in the presence of managers and representatives from both institutions, this first-of-its-kind award was granted to the Bank for its Paywave - contactless transactions volume growth exceeding 100% in transactions’ count and payment volume in addition to exceeding the market growth by three folds.

Commenting on the Award, Georges Aouad, Director - Head of the Consumer Banking Division at Bank of Beirut stated that “this award constitutes a major milestone in Bank of Beirut’s payments journey and anticipates a remarkable growth in payment volumes.
It also attests that we are in the right direction towards shifting trend from cash to cards payments”, he said.

Expressing their pride of the partnership with Bank of Beirut, VISA International, represented by Mr. Nabil Tabbara, Levant General Manager, congratulated the Bank on this achievement, undertaking to support its future digitization efforts and digital roadmap.
