Bank of Beirut – August 18th, 2009: Under the slogan "Ambition beyond Borders", Bank of Beirut inaugurated its Training Center on the 18th of August 2009 in the Banks’ Street, Downtown Beirut, in the presence of Mr. Salim Sfeir, Chairman General Manager of Bank of Beirut and a number of executives of the Bank, trainers, university placement officers and press representatives.

In his speech given for the occasion, Mr. Salim Sfeir warmly welcomed his guests, stressing that "the inauguration of this advanced Center reflects our commitment to being a pioneer Bank, providing its customers with the best service; a promise that Bank of Beirut has always undertaken to keep”.

As to the role of the Training Center, Sfeir said: "This center will provide our staff with the training they need to live up to our commitment to always offer the best services to our customers; a competitive edge to which we deeply hold."

Moreover, Bank of Beirut Chairman revealed that the opening of the Training Center coincides with a decision taken by the Bank to expand its national network to reach more than 50 branches in the coming months.

It is to be noted that Bank of Beirut training program covers a variety of technical banking training programs and modules, such as branch performance, trade finance, project appraisal and finance, and financial analysis and consultancy, to name a few. Each trainee will need to undergo between 160 and 297 training hours to complete the program. The trainee would then need to sit for the required evaluation tests to obtain a professional certificate from Bank of Beirut, which is considered a reliable passport towards professional banking expertise.

Mr. Sfeir’s speech was followed by a documentary shedding light on the training modules offered at the Center and displaying testimonials of trainers and trainees. A tour was then organized, introducing guests to the various sections and facilities of the Center.

This initiative comes in the framework of the Bank’s ongoing efforts to satisfy its customers and provide them with the utmost comfort and top-notch banking services through the professionalism of its employees, which is believed to be the foundation of the Bank’s success.
