Bank Beirut Celebrates its Successes in Muscat
Sfeir: We Plan on Launching Several Branches in Sultanate of Oman






The Chairman General Manager of Bank of Beirut Salim Sfeir announced that the Bank is undergoing a process of expansion through the opening of several branches in the Sultanate of Oman after the outstanding success of its branch in Muscat. He revealed a plan to increase the Bank's capital and increase the dividends paid per share, after its prominent achievement in the year 2007.

Sfeir declared this at the Bank's first anniversary of the Muscat Branch, which was held at Crown Plaza Hotel in the capital, on March 1st, 2008. The Governor of the Omani Central Bank Hamud Bin Sangur Bin Hashim al-Zadjali, the Lebanese Ambassador Afif Ayyoub, and the Italian Ambassador Cesare Capitani, were among the attendees in addition to numerous representatives of Omani corporations, Lebanese citizens, and Omani social figures.

Mr. Sfeir welcomed the attendees and announced the Bank's plan to launch several branches in Oman after the great success of its initial Branch. He stated that what Bank of Beirut aims at, in collaboration with Emirates Bank, is to strategically expand. Such a step will ensure a gigantic leap inside and outside Lebanon. Bank of Beirut Invest s.a.l. was established to take care of various real estate needs in Lebanon and in the Arab world, including Sultanate of Oman. He added that one of the plans is to launch an insurance company to deal with different kinds of life insurance plans and policies. In addition, the Bank plans on expanding to Sudan, Yemen, Africa, and Syria as part of its goal to becoming a well-renowned international Bank of the region.

Bank of Beirut accomplished great success in the year 2007 thus increasing its capital, in addition to increasing the dividends paid per share.

The event was concluded with a presentation by the Financial Manager of Bank of Beirut, Roger Dagher, who gave a visual presentation on the Bank's development and progress.
