From five branches in 1993, Bank of Beirut expanded its operations through organic growth and strategic alliances with regional Arab banking institutions and acquisitions. It gradually enhanced its market position and currently ranks 7th in terms of total assets and 6th in terms of profitability. The bank’s expansion is now in full swing with 11 branch licenses acquired in 2008, along with a license for a fully-fledged branch of Bank of Beirut (UK) Ltd. in Frankfurt, Germany and a second branch in the Sultanate of Oman.
