Training Center
2009 witnessed the launching of Bank of Beirut Institute (BBI) located at the heart of our Beirut Capital under the slogan "Ambition Beyond Borders". The BBI is set to provide our Bank family with more than 50 modules covering a range of banking topics, core courses in banking and business fundamentals and additional topics including retail banking, management; commercial, consumer and mortgage lending; marketing and sales; bank financial management; and compliance. Moreover, BBI offers opportunities for our employees to get certified in their job positions which will reflect that they are excelling at what they are performing.

Training Staff
In a belief that people ultimately determine the Bank’s success, the Human Resources Department at Bank of Beirut dedicates its efforts to ensuring the continuous professional development of the Bank’s team. Aware of the fact that training helps provide an opportunity for the development of the Bank’s human resources in addition to helping staff in attaining personal growth, the Bank continuously seeks to offer them the right learning chances by developing a full range of training activities and efforts for delivering value to clients.

2009 Training Figures
The year 2009 was active in training & development activities, whereby the HR Department provided more than 95,202 training hours divided as follows:

  • 29,015 hours of training programs and activities in Banking Operations & Education, Information Technology, Languages, Leadership & Organizational Behavior, Retail Banking & Marketing, Risk, Finance & Audit.
  • 34,987 Rotational hours On-the-Job training.
  • 31,200 University internship training hours.

Train The Trainer
In the aim of increasing the share of internal trainings and in order to develop the skills of our internal trainers, Bank of Beirut launched the Train the trainers two-week program at the end of which 16 internal trainers got certified and ready to support the training & development unit in the coming years.
