The Bank grants loans for the establishment of SMEs in light industry, agriculture, computer technology and tourism sectors. These loans are guaranteed at 75% by Kafalat SAL, theLebanese governmental guarantee agency, and supported by the Central Bank, by subsidizing directly (through refunding to banks) 700 basis points of the interest rate charged on such loans. The maximum loan amount is LBP 600 million (U.S. $400,000) and the maximum tenure of these loans is seven years, including a grace period of one year.
