Bank of Beirut, February 2, 2009: Bank of Beirut team kicked off the New Year under the slogan: Bank of Beirut, my banking partner 2009, during a lunch held on January 17 at the Pavillon Royal du Biel and that gathered the Bank’s 850 employees operating in Lebanon and abroad.

The corporate lunch emphasized the importance of following the dreams and the professional career of ambitious people who can find at Bank of Beirut a platform for their ambitions. The team gathered to welcome a new year and remember a previous one lived together with its good and challenging moments.

In his speech given for the occasion, Mr. Salim Sfeir, Chairman General Manager of Bank of Beirut confirmed to the audience that:” Thanks to each one of you, we have proven to everyone that we are united and ambitious, that success is our limit and the fulfillment of the future our goal”.

He then praised everyone’s commitment that contributed to the success of Bank of Beirut; as a matter of fact, Bank of Beirut that had started out in 1993 with a 20 million dollar budget has now a budget of 5 billion and 600 million dollars. The Bank which had only 5 branches, expanded today to 43 branches in Lebanon, and will add several more this year, in addition, to its branches and offices in Cyprus, Oman, Iraq, Nigeria, UAE, Libya, and London; in addition to its subsidiaries, Bank of Beirut Invest, Bank of Beirut Brokers and more.

On the objective of the Bank, he declared: “one of our most important goals is to be a world-renowned bank,

present wherever the Lebanese people are, providing them with a full array of services. As far as Lebanon is concerned, on the other hand, we aim to be one of the best Lebanese banks”.

The speech was followed by a short documentary movie prepared by the Communication Department on the Bank and its employees. Then, the 850 present danced till the first hours of the evening on the tunes of the “Musico Loco” band.
